The Sponsors

We\\'re pleased to announce that Esendex have kindly agreed to sponsor the September Nottingham Geek Girl Dinner. Obviously the fact that Gemma works for them as a software developer had nothing to do with it...

Esendex are a Nottingham-based web SMS company and a global success story, with operations in the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany and Austrailia. They\\'ve just set up their US operation in San Francisco and are growing rapidly as more and more businesses are using web SMS to talk to their customers and their staff. Esendex\\'s Marketing Director Geoff Love will introduce the event on 20th September 2010 at Jam Cafe, Nottingham. He says \\'we\\'re really pleased to be supporting the event. Esendex shares Girl Geek\\'s passion for technology and is always looking for new ideas to help drive our business forward, so we\\'re looking forward to a great evening with some interesting speakers.\\'

Visit http://www.esendex.co.uk for the UK site, or http://www.esendex.us/ for the US site.

The Speakers

As well as a few words from Geoff at Esendex, we\\'ve also got Julie Greensmith PhD who researches immunology and computer security, as well as riding rollercoasters in the name of academic research coming along to tell us about what she\\'s been up to. Gemma, the rollerskating, Jeremy Kyle-loving girl geek/software developer from \\'oop North\\' will be coming along to run an interactive session on Test Driven Development vs. Behaviour Driven Development (or TDD vs. BDD for those in the know).

The Tickets

The only way we can secure venues and catering is to offer this event as a ticket only event. We don\\'t make any money from running the events, and it\\'s only thanks to the sponsors that we are able to run them at all. Ticket sales will close 24 hous prior to the event in order to confirm numbers with the venue. There are 40 places available on a strictly first come first served basis.
